Harmony day

Harmony Day is not celebrated in my country . but I know the concepts of the word . In my country we use this one little bit different way,and that is"though we have many colours,religion and tribes,however we are same." We should respect other culture and religion if we want have a peaceful life.




In Australia, Harmony Day cebrated very spreadly because this country is a multiculture.People from different countries carring different attitude , come here to live and they want to adopted here. in that point of view all they are Australian.





21th march is the Harmony Day but there was a public holiday so we celebrated it 20th march. We 're gathering in building A at 10 o'clock. I wore my traditional costume SHARI. It is say that harmony color is orange and my SHARI's colour was orange. We enjoyed two people's speech about there live-experienced in here. One of my country person sang a popular song of my country.That song describe feelings for their own motherland when anyone live abroad! I felt proud coz it was in bangla though most of the people didn't understand its meaning. At that time Marion said to me that I can be singing.One day she offererd me to sing a song into the harmony day but I felt nervous.


by the way last we all togather tried to sang a song that was WE ARE AUSTRALIAN.

Library

The student's & stuf can borrow from the library.We need to bring the Tafe Card to join in.


We can borrow 10 items from the library.Books and magazines are included in print items.We can borrow books for two weeks & videos for a weeks.


If anyone want them longer they can renew over the phone.We can renew upto six print items & four audio items.We can search the library catalouge by internet from our home.The library is open 9:oo am & close at 8:00 pm.

We can make any photocopies or print from the library computer.We need some money to put our tafe card.Its cost 20c.Its not same price for student association members.
The library has other service that is help student with an assightment, find an information, trouble to find book and if there a book found in catalogue but not in that TAFE. they bring it for us from another TAFE.
They also have ESL resources which is The catalogue, Subject areas, Magazines & News papers, On-line databases, Australia/ New Zealand reference centre, Macqualie.net, Internet, TAFE study links, CDROMS, Videos/DVDs, Sound recordings, Reference, Special reserve.Books and kits which is include excise book audio tape leaders story books , kits with the audio tape and story book. Dictionary in reference section can use just in library that good for ESL student.
